Spirit Healing Adventures

This year I decided to do something different in my life. I decided to take a year off to travel the world, not just to get passport stamps and see pretty sights, but to seek out cultures and experiences that heal and expand the mind, body, and spirit.

When I tell people I am taking a year off to travel the world, I think they envision a year of drinking, beaches, and taking selfies at the typical tourist sights. At least that is what I think most 20-somethings do on their year off. But for me, my aim of this year off couldn’t be further from that, it’s not just a way to “escape” reality. Each stop I will be making this year was carefully chosen, with each destination being inspired from great thinkers I have been drawn to from Albert Einstien to Steve Jobs, who have attributed and important part of their success to certain practices, whether spiritual or physical. A couple destinations along the way have not been inspired by a certain great thinker, but have been inspired from happenstances in my own life. Maybe one day I can say that they were also inspired by a great thinker. Haha.

Setting out on this journey, I have set out three goals or rather intentions to focus on; 1. healing myself, 2. finding my career passion, and 3. to find my soul mate. None of these goals will be an easy feat, and many people may believe that they are delusions that cannot be accomplished as they don’t exist or only exist for a small percentage of the human population. I decided though, I might as well go big or go home (literally) with my intentions for the year, and the best approach was to choose my intentions under the impression that anything is possible. That being said, I know that if I have any hope of achieving these goals I will have to push myself way beyond my current limits and comfort zone both physically and mentally. I will have to face myself, coming to terms with my weaknesses and also learning to embrace my strengths.  I created this website to share some of my experiences and healing through this year, and hopefully inspire others to do something. What that something might be, I don’t know.

Over the year I will be traveling (in order) to Peru, India, Portugal & Spain, Russia & Mongolia, and finally the United Kingdom. More information on the reasoning behind these destinations and blog posts can be found under the respective headings in the menu.
